Collaborating with Canyon Bicycles to Bring V2X to Urban E-Bikes

We’re excited to announce a major step toward connected cycling. Canyon Bicycles GmbH has revealed that Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology for e-bikes is moving closer to reality, with beta testing expected as early as next year on a limited number of electric bike models.
This cutting-edge innovation, developed in collaboration with cubesys GmbH - an nfiniity company, enables e-bikes to communicate seamlessly with cars, public transport, and street infrastructure. The goal? To provide riders with intuitive alerts — like subtle haptic feedback in the grips — when a potential hazard is detected, even if it’s hidden around a blind corner.
At the heart of this breakthrough is our cube:nano — one of the smallest all-in-one V2X On-board Units (OBU) on the market — custom-tailored for seamless in-frame integration into urban e-bikes without compromise.
Apostolos Georgiadis, Co-founder & CEO of cubesys GmbH, comments:Safety is not a privilege — it should be inclusive. This collaboration is an important initiative for adopting V2X technology on a larger scale in micro-mobility, improving safety for everyone on the road while helping to reduce overall costs.
The next big step: real world testing to gather data and refine the technology for broader adoption.
This marks an important milestone toward building a safer, smarter mobility ecosystem where cycling and automotive innovation converge.
